About London Cat Sitter

London Cat Sitter is a cat sitting and home care service for when you take time away from home and would rather leave your pet in its own environment rather than put it into a cattery.

London Cat Sitter allows you to book a carer for your cats (and other small animals) who will ensure they are fed, cuddled and played with. The service also means that your home is looked after until your return.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will you spend with my cat?
I think that this really depends on the cat. Some will be more than happy to remain curled up on the sofa and just have a quick belly rub whereas others will be keen for playtime and a proper fuss. I would aim to spend about 30-40 minutes making sure that everything is in order and that your cat is happy. In this time I will clean the bowls and feed the cat, ensure water is refilled, play, cuddle, groom and anything else that needs doing.

What precautions do you take to keep my house safe?
If you like I can bring in post, open and close curtains and switch various lights on to give the impression of a lived in home. I find light timer switches particularly useful as you choose what times they come on and off. I will always ensure that windows and doors are shut and locked when I leave.

What happens if my cat becomes unwell?
I will only take on jobs where your cat is registered with a veterinary practice and is up to date with shots and vaccinations as required. You must also inform me of any existing problems before you go away. I will take the details of your vet so that if there is an emergency I can take your cat to them as quickly as possible. I do not have a car so will transport your cat by taxi but you will need to leave a cat box to put the cat into. If your vet can invoice you I will do that otherwise I will pay on your behalf and expect reimbursement as soon as possible on your return.

What about food and provisions?
You should ensure that you have bought enough food, litter and treats to cover the time you are away plus a couple of extra days in case you are delayed for any reason.  If for any unforseen reason the supply does run out, I will purchase more and keep the receipts so you can reimburse me.
Should I leave the cat flap open?
This decision is entirely up to you. Keeping the flat shut means that the cat cannot stray. If you normally open a door to let your cat out I would suggest that it is provided with a litter tray and kept in for the duration of your absence.

What happens with my keys?
Before you leave you will need to leave me with a tested set of keys to your house, preferably on a sturdy keyring. If you get a new set cut you must ensure that they work.

How will I know how my cat is?
Every day I will email you with an update of how you cat is doing. If there is an emergency I will do my best to contact you as soon as possible.
